River Patrols for Pollution
The Choptank RIVERKEEPER will patrol the watershed by boat and by air, looking for illegal pollution, critical area violations, and other insults to the waterway.
Working with Aloft Aerial Photography, he intends to participate in regular flyovers of the watershed, particularly after major rains, looking for non-point runoff plumes, potentially illegal manure runoff from poultry operations, and intends to develop a photographic record of runoff issues over time. This record can then be used to develop solutions to pollution issues.
